World Cup: India Exit, target 2015

Something must be done to salvage cricket in India. Its our mistake that we have made cricketers gods. What intrigues me is why cricket is treated differently from everything else. All the world, all corporations have pay for performance, why not cricket? Players should be forced to spend time in Ranji but forcing never works, so incentive structure should be made different.
Now what can be a structure that forces them to play domestic, helps them become competitive internationally, makes team superior to individual and still work? Its complicated. Lets see.
Reward should obviously be higher for doing well internationally but international player get endorsement deals. But only individual players get the deal and not the team as a whole in general. And this is also logical because cricket relies on individual brilliance as much as team work.
You need to take money from international level and put it in national games. Once the player is too good though, he stops playing and is judged only on international games. Now this creates an added complication as you cant judge him against others in Ranji not do Ranji people benefit from his experience. There is a simple solution to this one: Change the Ranji season so it never coincides with any international game. Exceptions should in general be avoided. Players for games are chosen only based on Ranji games. BCCI incentives are only for Ranji games and international is at same pay as national. This way, only added incentive at international is big contracts, and they wont come unless players perform.
If big players participate in Ranji, more people and sponsorship would come its way, improving it. If quality of players at that level goes up, international would follow. BCCI should take time to revamp its structure and reduce the number of international tours to start with. This way, we may win the world cup in 2015.

Indian search engine

It seems redundant but I do feel we need a search engine for India. All data on Google is US or Europe centric. Ever tried to search for Khan market or CP or Shopper's stop in Delhi? or Mumbai or anywhere else in India? Chances are results are skewed. I do believe we need a new India centric search engine, may be even an India centric directory. It almost seems like there is a void on internet though India is so far ahead in tech...
